Bowling in our hallway

This one should be added to the Super Simple Activities posts!

A couple of days ago C and I were listening to The Bowling Song by Raffi, and she announced that she wanted to bowl too! After some trial and error, we set up a bowling lane in our hallway.

You will need:
  • Paper towel tubes
  • Ball
That's it - it can't get much easier! I closed the doors in our hallway so the ball wouldn't go astray. I started out using yogurt containers for pins, but they were too stable - I needed something wobblier. Since this was our first time, we used a beach ball, but I think we'll try a smaller Nerf ball next time. I need a few more paper towel tubes too.

I love it!! Super simple, but tons of fun. That is perfect for my toddler and my preschooler. We have a hard time getting the pins (whatever they are made of) to stay up on our carpet. Maybe the paper towel rolls will work better. If not, we will put them on a placemat like we usually do. Going to do this today!
Thanks for linking up with Try and Tell!

Oooo! I'm going to start saving my tubes now. We have the perfect ball for that!

Thanks for the tip!

such a great idea. I was just eyeing one of those bowling sets at the store the other day...now we can make our own!

Great idea, I never thought of using paper towel rolls! My family all saves their rolls for my girlie because we like to find crafts to make with them. We have played bowling on our patio in the summer with empty plastic water bottles, now we have a winter version to play! Thanks!

I really like this idea. We might have to go with toilet paper tubes and a smaller ball as we never use paper towels, but hey--that'd be just a 5-pin version of the game. :-)
