Organizing all of those barrettes!

Fact of life: when you have a little girl, you have barrettes.
Lots of barrettes.
Teeny, tiny barrettes that always get lost.

We don't have much wall or door space in C's room, and don't have room for a hanging barrette organizer (like this, this, or this one similar to what I had as a child). Instead, we just have a little barrette box that sits on a shelf, next to a little bucket of hair elastics.

She has so many barrettes that it's a pain to search for a matching pair. I don't know why it didn't occur to me sooner, but now I've clipped all of the matching barrettes to each other, so that they're in the box in pairs. No more searching! Plus, I've removed all of the singles, and plan to make some felt barrette covers.

Voila! Simple and easy, but it saves me time searching for a matching pair! Now, if only I can get Hubby to clip them together before putting them back in the box...

I love that idea. Quit frankly, I'd given up on hair accessories for my little ones. The older isn't interested and fights me most times when I want to do her hair and the younger doesn't have enough yet for anything to stay in. I actually kind of wait for one to go missing so I can throw the other away :)

I'll have to rethink this approach now that I've seen how easy it is to keep them organized. And they are so cute all piled up together!

Great idea.

And, um, those are really cute barrettes. Clearly, I need to take my girls barrette shopping.

You know, it never occurred to me to buy a little bucket or something for my daughter's hair stuff. It really didn't. I'm going out tomorrow! Ha ha!

I'm actually quite envious that your child will wear hair accessories. My daughter's barrettes are sitting in a bin, gathering dust. Maybe I should start wearing them ...

Very cute. We live in pony tails at our house, but the same principle can be applied. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Getting hubby on board is the real trick, isn't it?
